Step-by-step instructions on how to create a team in Footy Goaly
Step 1: Download the app
To start the download, go to the main page and click the “Download” button. Save the file to your device, then open the “Downloads” folder and run the installation file.
For additional security, it is recommended to check the file with an antivirus program. If your device has protection against installing applications from unknown sources, allow the installation of third-party software in the settings.
After the installation is complete, a shortcut for quickly launching the application will appear on the desktop. Make sure that your device meets the minimum system requirements for correct operation. To start the download, click the “Download” button on our website.
Step 2: Understand the rules and scoring system
Review the Rules section of the platform
Pay special attention to the scoring system:
What actions earn players positive points
What actions earn negative points
What bonuses exist for different positions
Understand the competition format:
Season length
Number of participants
Tournament table format
Understand the restrictions:
Team budget
Limit on players from one club
Accepted number of transfers
Step 3: Create a team
Come up with an original name for your team
Upload or choose a team logo
Decide on a motto or slogan (if provided by the platform)
Specify preferred team colors
Fill in additional information about the team (optional)
Formation of the squad
Step 4: Choose a formation
Evaluate the available formations (3-4-3, 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 5-3-2 etc.)
Choose a formation that suits your strategy:
Attack (3-4-3, 4-3-3)
Balanced (4-4-2, 3-5-2)
Defensive (5-3-2, 5-4-1)
Note that the formation can be changed during the season
Step 5: Analyze available players
Look at the list of all available players
Filter the players by position:

Starting lineup percentage
Physical condition (injuries, suspensions)
Upcoming matches of the player’s team
Step 6: Select goalkeepers
Choose a starting goalkeeper:
From a team with a strong defense
With a high clean sheet rate
With upcoming home games against weak teams opponents
Choose a backup goalkeeper:
Inexpensive, to save money
Or from the same team for insurance
Or with an additional game calendar
Step 7: Selecting defenders
Detemine the number of defenders depending on the chosen formation (3-5)
Choose attacking defenders (wingers):
Those who often join attacks
With good statistics of goal assists
Set piece performers
Chose central defenders:
With a high rate of won duels
From teams with a large number of “dry” matches
Scorers from corners and free kicks
Consider the compatibility of defenders:
Don’t choose too many players from one team
Combine players from teams with different calendars
Step 8: Selecting midfielders
Determine the number of midfielders (3-5)
Chooe attacking midfielders:
With high efficiency (goals + assists)
Set piece performers positions
Players through whom most attacks are built
Choose defensive midfielders:
With good tackle and interception rates
Playing an important role in building attacks
With a high percentage of accurate passes
Pay attention to versatile midfielders:
Able to play in different positions
With high endurance and playing time
Step 9: Selecting forwards
Determine the number of forwards (1-3)
Choose the main scorers:
With high efficiency
Penalty kick takers
With good statistics of shots on target
Consider the playing style of the striker’s team:
Attack/defensive football
Availability of strong assistants
Playing time and competition in the team
Step 10: Optimizing the squad
Check whether the selected players correspond to the budget
Make sure there are no injured or suspended players
Balance the squad between “stars” and inexpensive players
Assess diversification by clubs and leagues
